Nerf

I came I saw I wiped away my tears
Outside the countryside sped past
tearing the colours from my mind
Like an evil vacuum, I soon saw only
in black and white.
These words do not make sense
I can only see holes not your mind
when the apple tree is grown
colours will return to my home
I came to see meaning in a battered coke can
When It dawned on me perhaps I was the problem
That train journey was long forgotten
And I began to eat away my soul
These words do not make sense
I can only see holes not your mind
When the apple tree is grown
colours will return to my home
And I became a skeleton that I hated
Every time I looked in the mirror I saw more
So I whittled away at myself until there was nothing
else left.
These words do not make sense
I can only see holes not your mind
When the apple tree is grown
colours will return to my home.
Sugar coated skulls, black porcelain cups hold more tea
than me. Once a breeze came and blew away my soul
and I drifted into a hole in the wall where I took moss
to be my home. Oh Jesus never came and saved me
but the gaze of a good friend and fellowship
took me and made me whole again so that
never more would I be blown away by the sound
of someone at the door.
These words do not make sense
I can only see holes not your mind
When the apple tree is grown
colours and me
will be whole
colours and I will be whole
colours and I will be whole
colours and I will be whole
colours and I will be whole
