Shopping Together

We used to go shopping together

We never had any money

We never shopped for things we liked. Except for Tunnocks marshmallow cakes.

The rest was fat and protein and carbs.

Nothing much has changed except I don’t go shopping with her these days

I do it all online.

I am listening to a song and in it are the lyrics ‘the lint of love’

but for the life of me, I can’t think of a concrete example of this thing.

So I wrote a poem or tried to get to the bottom of it. I haven’t given up yet.

Well, Its love isn’t it. Its loving someone not always pretty and straight.

And corners get bumped and damaged, that sort of thing. And I need to

repair them being the handyman I am. It’s not created by me but its

beauty and pristineness are maintained by me in an act of love, albeit with tools and my hands.

Satisfied?
